Art Events and Openings in Brooklyn

Jonas Mekas at Microscope
As summer hits full swing many of the galleries have reverted to reduced hours or "by appointment only" hours. We would recommend calling first before heading out to a gallery in late July or August. All of the receptions below in our"Openings and Events" section have ben vetted, although it is a good idea to check the open hours during the week. A recommendation for this week is Microscope's"Outlaw"exhibition with new works by Jonas Mekas, on view through July 29th.
These galleries will be taking a break during the summer at some point:
109 Gallery, 17 Frost, 490 Atlantic Gallery, ACNY Exhibition Space, Agape Enterprise, Airplane, Art 101, Artadia, Arthelix, Associated Proj., Auxiliary Projects, Bose Pacia, Bric Rotunda Gallery, BWAC, Calico Brooklyn, Corridor Gallery, David Kesting Presents, Devotion Gallery, English Kills, Fowler Project Space, Front Room, Giacobetti Paul Gallery, Heliopolis, House Of Art Gallery, Kingsborough College Art Gallery, Laundry Lung, Luhring Augustine Bushwick, Mighty Tanaka, Momenta Art, Norte Maar, Observatory, Parker’s Box, Peninsula, Pierogi, Present Co, Proteus Gowanus, Schema Projects, Secret Project Robot, Sideshow, Skink Ink Editions, Smack Mellon, Soapbox Gallery, Southfirst: Art, Sugar, The Bishop, The Boiler, The Parlour, TRA Gallery, United Photo Industries, Valentine, Ventana244, Williamsburg Art & Historical Center.
