The Weekend Update

Make it over to Brooklyn this weekend for a fresh lineup of gallery openings and receptions.
Here's the highlights of tonight:

Tonight in Williamsburg Pierogi is hosting two new exhibitions featuring the work of Sarah Walker and Nadja Bournonville. It'll be a great contrast of mediums comparing rich richly painted surfaces to the deep photographs.

And in Bushwick Dave Kesting Presents gets comfy in their new space with a solo exhibition of Brian Leo's satirical paintings.  Images range from the A.I.D.s epidemic to text messages all displayed in bright, glowing color.

Lastly you can take a pleasant walk from Williamsburg into Greenpoint to check out the Ben La Rocco show at the Janet Kurnatowski gallery. His new series titled, "Fugue State" presents epic panels filled with space and ancient graphic symbols.
